Robert S. Skerker M.D.People who have had radiation therapy, suffer from diabetes or vascular disease, and the elderly are more likely to experience chronic non-healing wounds. Clean and closely monitor all wounds for infection or failure to heal, especially in the lower extremities. A tetanus shot may be necessary to prevent infection in deep puncture wounds such as those made by knives or nails.

A.R.M. Physicians partner with Morristown Memorial Hospital to treat chronic non-healing wounds. After an evaluation of your condition and medical history, our physicians work to develop a treatment plan that’s right for you.
Chronic wounds can result from infections, anemia, use of steroids, aging, smoking, obesity, diabetes, immobilization, poor circulation, pressure or other conditions that may resist healing. If your wound or sore hasn’t significantly improved in a month, healed entirely in two months, or shows increased redness, warmth, pain, drainage, tenderness, and swelling, you may be in need of our Wound Care Services.
Our Physicians ensure your quick and full recovery so you can get back to living a healthy active lifestyle. Our Wound Care Services provide the following benefits:
• Fewer medical costs and time spent in the hospital
• Prevention of extended or permanent disability
• Reduced chances of limb amputation from severe or chronic wounds
After treatment, we provide you and your caregiver with detailed instructions to help heal your wound. This includes:
